I'm the person next to you on the bus, in the grocery line, at the soccer game. I'm white, purple, short, tall, deaf, dear, dung.
All that and more.
This site is my fun spot, my favorite place. Toy time!
There's so much to say, share, contemplate, articulate. I'm a fairy tale, sleeper, seed spreader. I invent, repent, rejoice.
Life is good. Always has been, even in the dark spaces, on uncertain ground, for days, years, minutes.
Life is good. Always will be.
Take the day. Seize the moment. It's yours. You decide. You make the rules.
You make the rules.

Everyone's life is ruled by others. That's something that's true for all of us.
Maybe you like it that way, or maybe you're sick of it. Maybe you don't even know that you're a prisoner.
If you are a prisoner, you're a prisoner of your own device.
When you turn off the machine (totm), you release the constraints you've imposed on yourself.
The moment you let go, you create opportunities.
It's powerful. It will change your life, change everything.
For example, a dozen years ago I was overwhelmed by the need to constantly water, weed, and till my garden. I knew I had to either give up gardening or do something -- anything! -- different.
To give up fresh, organic food, and to sever my lifelong adventures with the miracle and bounty of Nature, was unthinkable.
Instead, I experimented until I discovered and perfected a radical new way of gardening. I no longer water, weed, or till. All I do now is plant in the spring, harvest in the fall, and maintain my ground cover.
I call the system I developed the 3 Wishes Garden. because it totally eliminates:
... and at a very low cost!
Everything I discovererd when perfecting the 3 Wishes Garden flies in the face of conventional wisdom.
However, there are times when ignoring conventional wisdom is the shortest route to a successful solution.
The 3 Wishes Garden is only one of the new concepts I share on this site.
My goal is to publicize as many of my inventions -- and the forward-thinking concepts of others -- as possible. My hope is that this site will spark your own inventions, ignite your imagination, and fire up the world!

THE 3 WISHES GARDEN
Here's how the garden works. It's simple.
My garden soil is always moist. I never let the soil dry out.
Every fall, winter, and spring, everyone's garden soil absorbs lots and lots of water from the rain and snow. All year around, I simply keep my garden covered with materials -- such as leaves, grass, wood chips, burlap bags -- that allow the rain (moisture) to reach the soil at all times but prevent the moisture from evaporating during the summer.
This means that I never have to water my garden because the ground covers prevent the soil from drying out.
People will tell you that your vegetable garden soil needs to dry out, get wet, dry out, again and again -- a never-ending cycle.
They are wrong.
They also don't realize that an important benefit of covering the soil is that the cover stops weeds from growing.
So you never have to weed.
As a third benefit, you never have to till (turn the soil over).
Tilling disrupts the ongoing and never-ending natural processes of the earth. Think of the soil under your feet as alive, like a city with streets and houses that are home to insects, worms, fungi and many other life forms. (The movie Dirt! offers an interesting and thought-provoking overview of soil and its critical but often overlooked role in supporting all life.)
So that's how the 3 Wishes Garden works. Want to try it? You'll be doing yourself, and the planet, a big favor if you do.
Others have developed similar no water / no weed / no till gardening systems, with similar results. Choose the system and materials that work best for you.
Right now, because water is plentiful and cheap, many think there's no particular reason to conserve it. That is changing, however, maybe sooner and faster than everyone thinks.
One last thought. As more and more people realize how effortless and enjoyable food-growing can be -- and how quickly and strongly it can unite neighbors and entire communities -- more people will start growing their own food. Nothing could be healthier! -- and, possibly, as the future unfolds, more critical.
